Most of us have heard the cliché, "Don't throw good money after bad". It is obviously frustrating when a person refuses to be responsible for their debts. It is even frustrating when the person has sufficient funds in order to pay for the good or services they have received. Unfortunately, some folks aren't willing to respond to their bills in a timely manner. Some of them frequently won't take any action until contacted by a collection agency. Others won't take action until they have received a letter from an attorney.

In many cases, a letter from an attorney has a greater impact than a letter from a collection company. While collection agencies can submit a delinquent account to an credit reporting bureau; that debt can be disputed by the debtor. However, when contacted by an attorney, the debtor realizes that a judgment may be entered against them and their assets may be seized.

In Georgia, a corporation must be represented by counsel. Therefore, filing suit against a corporate creditor will require that they retain an attorney and thus incur additional expenses. Frequently, this makes the creditor more willing to be reasonable with regard to paying the debt.

This firm represents businesses that are seeking to get paid for goods or services that have been provided. In most cases, a fee agreement is negotiated based on many factors including: the number of accounts that are to be pursued, the amount of money owed, the anticipated time required to pursue collection, and the likelihood of collecting money from the debtors. If you have any questions or concerns regarding collecting on a debt, please contact the firm at lawyer@mlnlaw.com.
