On April 16, 2013, MLN Law obtained a net $225,000 settlement, exclusive of attorney fees and costs, under the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (“NVICP”) for a 75 year-old Georgia resident.
Susan Cremer, a Georgia attorney and former registered nurse, represented the claimant who suffered an Influenza (“flu”) Vaccine reaction known as Guillain-Barre Syndrome (“GBS”). The claimant was hospitalized for several months with muscle weakness, unsteady gait numbness, and pain. She has improved over time.
GBS is an immune mediated nerve disorder which can be caused by a virus. In rare cases, GBS is thought to be triggered by a viral vaccine such as the Influenza Vaccine. The NVICP compensates people injured as a result of vaccines for conditions like GBS and other serious vaccine reactions.
If you or a family member has suffered a serious reaction to Influenza Vaccine or another vaccine response such as severe rashes, paralysis, brain damage, and wrongful death, MLN Law has experienced attorneys who assist claimants with Vaccine Reaction claims.
